I was married for 30 years and I've only ever been married once, unfortunately, the person I married was not who I thought and he became a very angry and controlling person. Finally, after he had a few affairs I only found out about after the fact he emptied our joint-checking account, closed it off, and moved in with another woman before filing for divorce in the span of a couple of weeks. It was a difficult time in my life and a shock for me, as I had been engaged and married since I was 18 and planned to only ever be married to one man my entire life, but I've spent the past several years since our divorce became official in 2012 rebuilding my finances and rediscovering who I am as a person. Today, I can proudly say that I am a happily independent woman who has taken those hard lessons and learned from them. I know what I would like in a relationship now and more than anything I would like a friendship and partnership that is mutually supportive and based on trust, respect for each other, and a passion for living life and experiencing all that it has to offer in our golden years. I was blessed with three wonderful children, a daughter (my oldest), my son (my youngest) and another baby son (who would have been my youngest) who passed away in utero (while I was pregnant with him). I also have one very sweet, affectionate three-year-old tuxedo kitty I named Dolly. Some of my favorite activities are walking the 2.5 mile lake near where I live, working outside and in my garden, cooking, and occasionally dining out and going to see a movie as a weekend treat but I am very open to more adventure and traveling with the right person. I still love dancing and I used to be a regular dancer on the weekends, I even won my share of competitions back when disco was still en vogue and I haven't lost a step if you want to join me on this wild and crazy dance floor we call life. I do drink occasionally, usually a glass of wine with my dinner, but never heavily and I am not a smoker. I am a driven, open-hearted, and open-minded woman of faith who does not believe in judging others and who still has a lot of life and love to give to that special someone seeking the same.
